Download on iTunes and Beatport from August 17th! Cosmic Disco king Maelstrom steps up on remix duties for West London producer Oblong’s “Playing On My Mind”. Maelstrom first came to prominence late last year with a now infamous reworking of Metro Areas seminal Miura – quickly gaining support from the likes of Todd Terje and LCD Soundsystems James Murphy.
Determined not to be a flash-in-the-pan producer, he was quickly signed up by the revered Belgian imprint Eskimo Recordings and built up an enviable DJ reputation across Europe, including dates at the legendary Horse Meat Disco. His knack for cleverly crafting edits (our favourite is his take on The Pointer Sisters) has also grown with releases on Mindless Boogie, Beard Science and his own Solardisco label. With a joint release planned with the uber-hip DFA Records and a single on Prins Thomas Internasjonal imprint also coming this Summer, were glad to have Maelstrom on board for this journey! Our resident vocalist Adam Parker has recently gained attention in glorious style by hooking up with the biggest name in progressive house music – Sasha. The singer-songwriters track Highlife became the basis for Lowlife, undoubtedly the finest moment from the Invol2ver album. Adam and Sasha have recently reunited for a new version of the track, which has been met with applause since its release on the Renaissance label, providing the soundtrack across of clublands more discerning nightclubs…
Look out for the original version of Playing On My Mind – an immaculately crafted song with shades of Erlend Øye and Pet Shop Boys, featuring the vocal talents of Adam Parker.
