Bubba & T-Bone aka Timmy Stewart and Johnny Smyth have a deep catalogue of releases under various guises for some of the coolest labels including Classic, Hip Therapy, Paperecordings and Glasgow Underground. Their work together as Bubba & T-Bone broke through off the back of last summers mammoth Friendly Fire track on Mode Music. For 2009 they serve up the Acid Squash!
What wont shock you is the fact that Acid Squash is built around a deliciously warm bubbling acid line. What will impress you however is how that most long-standing of electronic hooks is masterfully woven in to a bumping, sleazed-up tech house groove with infectious dub bassline, perfectly measured layers of swinging beats and breathless vocal snippets. Very cool. Very large.
Never one to shy away from a bit of good old-fashioned acid, James Talk ups the ante with a pacey main-room mix. Seriously beefed up beats sit neatly beneath the dub-bass to provide a driving under current that leaves centre stage wide open for that acid line to be ripped to the hilt.
